Trailer Running Gear Systems for On- and Off-road Use

Development

The way in which trailer running gear is engineered, manufactured, assembled and maintained is changing: systems are now created online, where they are assigned the digital DNA that supports them throughout their lifecycle with intelligent services. In future, trailer running gear from BPW will be based on a modular principle that vastly simplifies its configuration, manufacturing, servicing, spare part maintenance and repairs. A metallurgical innovation creates the basis for the development of the new modular chassis system.

Motivation

BPW has completely rethought the structural layout of trailer running gear over a period of two years. The aim of the development was to reduce the diversity of running gear components, save weight, and at the same time increase the application range: the running gear architecture, known as ECO Air, is suitable for both on- and off-road use.
