Multiphysics Simulation for the Design and Optimization of High-performance Battery Systems

More and more vehicles are solely electrically driven today. This trend not only applies to passenger cars but also to mobile machines. Voltabox develops and manufactures battery systems which are suitable for the long-term use in intralogistics, in solely electric commercial vehicles for the mining sectors or in buses. The lithum-ion-based battery systems are optimized for specific applications using simulation programs.

Motivation

Voltabox battery systems currently cover a voltage range from 12 V to 1 kV and offer capacities from 120 Wh to 800 kWh, always providing tailor-made solutions according to customer-specific requirements. By combining single module components and working jointly with the customer, the best solution can be found. Thanks to a high degree of automation in robot-based production, such high-performance battery systems with most different cell shapes and cell chemistries are available in highest quality within short development times.
