Exhaust aftertreatment according to EU Stage IV for an EU Stage III B basic engine

For the OEMs and engine manufacturers, the transition fromEU Stage III B to EU Stage IV was a major challenge, notonly because of the short time but also because of the more stringent emission limit values. To give the engine and machinery constructors the time they needed to execute thisswitchover, EU Non-road Directive 97/68/EC included a flexibility scheme. Many OEMs are using this flexibility, so that in 2017 there are still machine changes from EU Stage III B toEU Stage IV. HJS developed an exhaust gas aftertreatment system for an engine designed according to EU Stage III B, which meets the requirements of EU Stage IV in the existing installation space of a tractor.
