“Comprehensive expert systems for agricultural machinery”

In future, autonomous agricultural machines will not only drill and harvest crops independently, they will also gather huge quantities of data. This will be needed for the comprehensive expert systems that will control the networked machines efficiently in real time. In an interview with ATZoffhighway, Professor Ludger Frerichs, Head of the Institute of Mobile Machines and Commercial Vehicles (IMN) at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, explains what needs to happen before this can become a reality.

Prof. Dr. Ludger Frerichs(born in 1959) has been Head of the Institute of Mobile Machines and Commercial Vehicles (IMN) at the Technische Universität Braunschweig since 2012.
