Electrification and Driver Assist Technology in the ZF Innovation Tractor
- 68 Downloads
ZF bundles innovative driving and assistance functions in its Innovation Tractor 2016 concept vehicle and demonstrates how driver assistance systems and electric drives can also add value for off-highway applications. The objective is to make agriculture more efficient and enhance safety. The test vehicle based on a standard tractor is equipped with cameras that monitor its surroundings. The data from these cameras is then utilised to enable the vehicle to manoeuvre semi-autonomously or via mobile devices operated outside the driver’s cab. Driveline electrification in the tractor comes courtesy of the powerful ZF Terra+ generator module, which in combination with electric single-wheel drives on the trailer or implements as well as a specially developed traction controller ensure optimum off-road manoeuvrability.
