EU Stage V Engines from MTU for Agricultural and Construction Equipment

The Series from 1000 to 1500 to be developed jointly by MTU and Daimler currently based on Daimler commercial vehicle engines for EU Stage V. These engines in the power range between 100 and 480 kW should be available early for the planned 2019 introduction of the emission standard EU Stage V. The new emission limits for soot particles meet the MTU engines through engine improvements, an SCR system and an additional diesel particulate filter.

New Requirements Proposed by the Legislature

As the drive unit of choice for the widest possible range of applications, the diesel engine is still the most efficient heat engine available today. The exhaust emissions of the diesel engine are repeatedly at the focus of criticism, however, as the particulate emissions in particular are regarded and classified as harmful.
