Indian practice relating to international law

This compilation sets out Indian practice on international law. It includes practice which indicates the Indian position on questions of international law, or demonstrates Indian compliance with or violation of an international law obligation, or illustrates the working of internal municipal processes which control India’s engagement with and involvement in the international law-making process.

This compilation is divided into two sections – one section each covering judicial and executive practice - all covering the period from 1 October 2017 to 31 December 2017. There was no relevant legislative practice during this period. The judicial section covers judicial decisions from the Supreme Court of India, the High Courts and important decisions from various tribunals.
