National Academy of Science Awards
On April 29 during the National Academy of Sciences’ 155th annual meeting, 19 individuals were honored by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in recognition of their extraordinary scientific achievements in the fields of physics, biology, and medical sciences.
Some of the 2018 NAS Award Recipients Are As Follows:
Professor James P. Allison, Ph.D. (Jessie Stevenson Kovalenko Medal). Dr. Allison is a professor and Chair of the Department of Immunology, the Vivian L. Smith Distinguished Chair in Immunology, Director of the Parker Institute for Cancer Research, and the Executive Director of the Immunotherapy Platform at MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas. His discoveries have led to new treatments against the most lethal cancers.
