Looking China: unique opportunity
Looking China has provided me with a unique opportunity to extend my knowledge about China, both country and culture. It has also provided an opportunity to extend my documentary teaching practice.
The collaboration for my project involved two student filmmakers from The School of Film and Television, Faculty of the Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (VCA & MCM), University of Melbourne, Australia, and two from Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Finland. A team of volunteer students from the Sichuan University of Media and Communications (SUMC) in Chengdu, was wonderfully led by Professor Ran Guangze and staff members. We were joined in Chengdu by the team from Singapore led by Ms Joon-Nie Lau, who led the Singaporean Looking China teams in 2014 and 2015.
