Preview | CIMAC Circle at Power-Gen Europe 2015 in Amsterdam

Following the success of the 2014 event at Power-Gen Europe in Cologne, CIMAC has scheduled a further CIMAC Circle in June at Power-Gen 2015 in Amsterdam. Its theme will be “Piston engines — fast and versatile power to balance renewable energy” and its time and venue are 11:15 to 12:45 on 9th June, 2015 in Room G106 at the RAI exhibition centre.

Following the established Circle format, presentations from industry experts will highlight central aspects of the theme before a panel discussion. The theme reflects a situation where the energy sector is facing fundamental changes due to the large-scale introduction of renewable electricity sources with their inherent intermittency. Employing wind turbines and solar panels means the traditional, stable baseload for conventional power plants is disappearing; instead, frequent starts and stops are required by fuel-burning systems to supplement and back-up renewable sources.
