An event is serious (based on the ICH definition) when the patient outcome is:

  • * death

  • * life-threatening

  • * hospitalisation

  • * disability

  • * congenital anomaly

  • * other medically important event

In a retrospective study of the patients, who underwent haematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) between January 2013 and December 2016, four male patients [aged 8 months−22 years] were described, who developed respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)-B infection, parainfluenza virus type-3 (PIV-3) infection or progression of PIV-3 or rhinovirus infection to lower respiratory tract, Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecium, Serratia marcescens,Stenotrophomonas maltophilia infections,lymphopenia or neutropenia following treatment with alemtuzumab, fludarabine, hydroxycarbamide, melphalan, mycophenolate-mofetil, thiotepa or tacrolimus. Additionally, one of these patients also developed fatal cardio-respiratory arrest triggered by immnune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome...
