An event is serious (based on the ICH definition) when the patient outcome is:
* death
* life-threatening
* hospitalisation
* disability
* congenital anomaly
* other medically important event
In a retrospective study of 10 patients, who were followed at centre national d'Ophtalmologie des Quinze-Vingts, Paris, France, between March 2016−May 2017, seven men and three women, aged 61−90 years, were described, who developed ocular surface disease (OSD) secondary to drug intoxication, which lead to the worsening of the pre-existing primary open-angel glaucoma (POAG) during treatment with bimatoprost, bimatoprost/timolol, brimonidine, carteolol, dorzolamide, dorzolamide/timolol, latanoprost, neomycin/dexamethasone, pilocarpine or travoprost [dose not stated]; some of the above medications had unspecified preservatives that contributed to the ADR's.
