Daimler has opened a new test site in Immendingen (Germany). One of the main goals there is to provide contemporary testing possibilities for the changed test requirements for innovative vehicles. Taking into account the traffic situations and the movement requirements for future-oriented dummy movement systems, a rope robot was designed in cooperation with Messring.
The Movement Patterns of Pedestrians and Cyclists
Using anticipatory sensors, autonomous emergency braking systems can detect dangerous situations and prevent a potential collision by activating the emergency brakes. In urban environments, prompt and reliable emergency braking can save lives, particularly those of unprotected road users such as pedestrians and cyclists. The emergency braking function is a key component of safe automated driving. The reliability of the system as a whole is largely dependent on effective and prompt detection of dangerous situations and thus on the anticipatory sensors and detection...
