German Government Reduces Budget for AI

Last year the German Government presented its strategy for Artificial Intelligence and announced an investment of 3 billion Euro until 2025. However, in its current budget, which was released this summer, only one billion Euros are planned until 2023 with 500 million Euros in the current budget and tranches of 125 million for the following years. In comparison, in the coming budget year the German Government invests more than 15 billion Euros in traffic infrastructure and the defense budget alone will be increased by 2 billion Euros. The EU will invest more than 20 billion Euros in Artificial Intelligence.
