Dr. N. B. Prakash Conferred the Prof. Sant Singh Memorial Award for his Pioneering Research Work on Silicon in Indian Agriculture by Indian Society of Soil Science

Abstract

The Indian Society of Soil Science (ISSS) instituted a memorial award in honour of Prof. Sant Singh in 2015. This award is presented every year in recognition of excellent Soil Science research by an Indian Scientist. The Prof. Sant Singh Memorial award for the year 2016 has been awarded to Dr. N. B. Prakash during the 81st ISSS Annual Convention held at Gwalior, India. Dr. Prakash, the second recipient of this award, is the Professor at Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bangalore, India. He received this award for his outstanding contributions for “dedicated and excellence teaching in soil science education and pioneering research work on silicon in Indian agriculture”.
