Optimization Letters Best Paper Award for 2017

Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to announce that the following two papers shared the 2017 OPTL Best Paper Award:

Fani Boukouvala, Christodoulos A. Floudas (2017), ARGONAUT: AlgoRithms for Global Optimization of coNstrAined grey-box compUTational problems, Optimization Letters 11(5), 895–913.

Etienne de Klerk, François Glineur, Adrien B. Taylor (2017), On the worst-case complexity of the gradient method with exact line search for smooth strongly convex functions, Optimization Letters 11(7), 1185–1199.

The OPTL Best Paper Award carries a 1000 USD prize shared between the winners and a plaque. This year the Best Paper Award Selection Committee included OPTL Editorial Board members Dr. Boris Mordukhovich, Dr. Jean-Philippe Richard, Dr. Monica Gentili, and the Founding Editor-In-Chief, Dr. Panos Pardalos. We want to thank the members of the Committee for their service and Springer for sponsoring the award.

In addition, the following paper received an honorable mention:

Xingyin Wang, Stefan Poikonen, Bruce Golden, The vehicle routing problem with drones: several worst-case results, Optimization Letters 11(4), 679–697.
