It is a great pleasure to announce that Dr. András Sápi joined the editorial team of Reaction Kinetics, Mechanisms and Catalysis starting from January 2020 as an Associate Editor.

András is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied and Environmental Chemistry, University of Szeged, Hungary. His research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis and surface science based on size controlled nanoparticles and 3D transient-metal supports, which is one of the core fields of the journal Reaction Kinetics, Mechanisms and Catalysis. This expertise is highly complementary to the research background of the Editor-in-Chief and will certainly add new strengths to the editorial work. The primary responsibility of András will be guiding the peer review process of manuscripts in the field of heterogeneous catalysis.

In the 2010s, this journal experienced substantial growth. The annual number of manuscripts received went up by a factor of 3 in this decade and the increase in the impact factor was also close to threefold in the same time period. We hope that the presence of András will accelerate the peer review process and will also contribute to the further growth of the journal in the 2020s. We also hope that he will enjoy his new job.

    Sincerely,

    Balázs Réffy
