Model and Energy Aspects for Propagation of Strain and Mechanical Stresses in Textile Fabrics

We consider the influence of frictional forces between warp and weft yarns on the resistance of the fabric. We have established that when the fabric is stretched, the strain distribution is not uniform over the length of the sample. We have found that the major portion of the strain occurs in the section of yarns between their overlaps with weft yarns.
