Chemical Constituents of the Essential Oil Extracted from Manglietia glauca

Manglietia glauca Blume is a unique single-species plant that is a national first-class protected and endangered plant in China [1]. This species is an evergreen tree with a straight trunk and an aesthetically pleasing shape. It produces large white flowers that are similar to those of Michelia alba in shape. It has a long flowering period and pervasive fragrance. In addition, this plant has a strong bactericidal capability. Overall, M. glauca Blume is an excellent urban afforestation tree species. In addition, the wood texture is sound and easy to cut, making it useful in construction and in producing sculptures, furniture, and other products.

The study of M. glauca has mainly focused on biological [2] and ecological characteristics, breeding, afforestation, and landscaping.
