A New Eremophilane Sesquiterpene with Nematocidal Activity from Ligularia veitchiana

A new eremophilane sesquiterpene, 10α-hydroxy-3-oxoeremophil-1(2),7(11),8(9)-trien-8(12)-olide (1), was isolated from Ligularia veitchiana. The structure of the new compound was elucidated by physical and spectroscopic data analysis, including 1D NMR and 2D NMR and HR-ESI-MS. Compound 1 showed inhibitory activity against the second-stage juveniles (J2) of Meloidogyne incognita with an LC50 value of 134.5 mg/L.
