Congratulations on the publication of your article. Similar studies used split-mouth design [1, 2, 3]. Split-mouth design is used to avoid interindividual biological variation in pain perception [2, 4]. Moreover, use of this design associated with masking of the participants may have reduced the Hawthorne effect .
