Synthesis of spiro-oxindoles catalyzed by nano-Co3S4

A simple method for the synthesis of spiro[pyrazoloquinoline-oxindoles] and spiro[chromenopyrazolo-oxindoles] has been achieved through four-component reactions of phenylhydrazine or hydrazine hydrate, isatins, ketoesters, and naphthylamine or 2-naphthol using nano-Co3S4 under ultrasonic irradiations. The current method provides obvious positive points such as environmental friendliness, significantly shorter reaction time, markedly excellent yields, and simple workup procedure.
