Abstract

The Sb-rich Ru-Sb phase diagram was investigated by means of differential thermal analysis, electronprobe microanalysis, metallography, and X-ray diffraction. The existence of two compounds as confirmed in the range 50 to 100 at% Sb: RuSb2 and RuSb. The melting (decomposition) temperature of these compounds is >1250 °C. RuSb2 forms a eutectic with antimony at ≈617 °C.
