Some of the high mountain slopes are affected by deep-reaching gravitational deformations. Significant geomorphological manifestations of these deformations were described from many high mountain ranges of the world. The type of deformation depends on the geological structure of the slope. During the last ten years various opinions on the movement mechanism of these slope deformations have been expressed and schematic cross-sections drawn. Dips of slope deformations are given within the range of 18o to 50o. A whole series of factors may be responsible for the origin of these deformations. Deep-reaching gravitational deformations can cause serious economic damage.

Déformations gravitationnelles profondes des versants de haute montagne


Certains des versants de haute montagne sont atteints de déformations gravitationnelles profondes. D’importantes manifestations morphologiques de ces déformations furent décrites dans de nombreuses chaînes de montagnes du monde. Le type de déformation dépend de la constitution du versant. Au cours des dix dernières années diverses opinions sur le mécanisme de ces déformations de versants ont été présentées et des profiles schématiques dessinés. Les inclinaisons des versants en déformation sont données dans l’étendue de 18o à 50o. On avait décrit toute une série de facteurs qui peuvent causer ces déformations. Les déformations gravitationnelles profondes peuvent être la cause de sérieux dommages économiques.
