Mass movements on natural slopes composed of Krakowiec Clays, Southern Poland

Abstract

The paper presents a problem of stability of natural slopes in river valleys of the Vistula and San in Poland. Mass movements, conditions of development and stabilization of landslides are presented as a function of physico-mechanical properties and residual shearing strength of the overconsolidated Krakowiec Clays.

Résumé

L'article traite des problèmes posés par la stabilité des pentes naturelles des rivières Vistule et San en Pologne. Les mouvements de terrain, les conditions du développement et de la stabilisation des glissements sont présentés en fonction des propriétés physico-mécaniques et de la résistance au cisaillement résiduelle des argiles surconsolidées de Krakowiec.
