The influence of suspending agents on preservative activity in aqueous solid/liquid dispersions

Abstract

An investigation has been made of the effect of particulate solids on the activity of selected antimicrobial preservatives in the absence and presence of pharmaceutical suspending agents. Certain preservatives were adversely affected by the suspended systems, as shown by microbiological assay, using contact killing times.
