Abstract

Data on the use, the mydriatic activity and the systemic adverse effects of phenylephrine eyedrops are reviewed in order to ascertain whether mydriatic concentrations lower than 10% should be included in theFormulary of Dutch Pharmacists (FNA). From the available data it is deduced that 2,5% and 5% may be useful mydriatic concentrations, whereupon their mode of preparation is discussed.
