A method was developed for the synthesis of acetoxy-trans-1,2-disilylethylenes of formula (CH3COO)n(CH3)2−nRSiCH=CHSi(CH3)R′(OCOCH3), where R and R′=alkyl, and n=0 or 1. The corresponding silanols were obtained by the hydrolysis of the latter.
