Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The possibility and limits of applicability of the semiempirical formulas of Woodward and Lippincott, relating the intensities of the Raman lines and the parameters of the chemical bonds, were investigated. The limitation of such functions was demonstrated for compounds containing atoms from the lower periods of the periodic system.

  2. 2.

    The extremely substantial intensity of the Raman line of the valence symmetrical vibration of Sn-C in the spectrum of hexamethyldistannane and the data of the UV spectra permitted us to establish that in the system of C-Sn-Sn-C bonds there is an interaction between the electron clouds of the C-Sn bonds, which can be considered as σ,σ-conjugation.
