Production and investigation of atomized films of ion radical salts of tetracyanoquinodimethane

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Films of ion radical salts of tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) were produced by thermal atomization under vacuum without decomposition of the substance and without any change in the stoichiometric ratio. The crystal structure of the films was studied.

  2. 2.

    The absorption spectra of the films was studied as a function of the stoichiometric composition of the salt and the nature of the cation, and correlations of the spectra with the electrical and magnetic properties of TCNQ salts were noted.

  3. 3.

    The electric conductivity of atomized films coincides in order of magnitude with the least value of the electric conductivity for single crystals. The photoconductivity of the salts K(TCNQ), Cs2(TCNQ)3, and TEA(TCNQ)2 (TEA stands for triethylammonium) was observed for the first time.
