Carbonylation of olefins in the presence of supported palladium catalysts

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Catalysts comprising palladium on carbon or zeolites, with a low Pd content (0.25–1%), are active and selective in respect of the carbonylation of ethylene, propylene, and 1-hexene to form carboxylic acids.

  2. 2.

    Catalysts comprising palladium on carbon are suitable for repeated use.
