Conclusions

    Uracils react with formaldehyde and trivalent phosphorus derivatives to give derivatives in the 5 position of the pyrimidine ring.

  2. 2.

    Amino-4-hydroxy-5-methylpyrimidine reacts with paraform and triethyl phosphite at the amino group.
