Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The possibility of replacing three to six iodine atoms in polyiodobenzenes by substituted acetylene groups has been established.

  2. 2.

    1,2,4-Triethynyl-, 1,2,4,5-tetraethynyl-, and pentaethynylbenzene have been obtained by alkaline hydrolysis of the substitution products.
