Anisotropy of the electrical conductivity of Mn27Si47

Single crystals of Mn27Si47 containing very little of MnSi inclusions have been measured with respect to the electrical conductivity parallel and perpendicular to thec-axis. An anisotropic behavior was observed, particularly at low temperatures. Mn27Si47 was found to be a p-type semiconductor in agreement with literature data on similar manganese defect disilicides.
