A series of p-di-n-alkylbenzenes was prepared for the first time by organomagnesium synthesis from p-dibromobenzene, and their viscosity properties and freezing points were studied.
By a two-stage synthesis (chloroalkylation of alkylbenzenes and Grignard condensation of the products with aldehydes) dialkylbenzenes containing branched chains were prepared.
