Addition of trinitromethane to substituted phenylhydrazones of formaldehyde

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Trinitromethane can be added to the C=N bond of phenylhydrazones of formaldehyde. Addition products were obtained from trinitromethane and methylene-2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine and methylene-2, 2,4,6-trinitrophenylhydrazine.

  2. 2.

    By nitrating N-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)-N′-(2,2,2-trinitroethyl)hydrazine its N-nitro derivative was synthesized.
