The catalytic conversion of octene-1 in the presence of hydrogen and of a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide was investigated.
Under optimum conditions up to 30% of octene -1 underwent reaction with formation of intermediate hydrocarbons from C9 to C16 as well as of higher boiling components.
