Kinetics of nickel and nickel stannide solution in liquid tin

Abstract

The rotating disc method is used to study the solution kinetics of nickel and nickel stannides in liquid tin in the temperature range 300–700°C. Saturation concentrations, solution rate constants, and the nickel diffusion coefficient in liquid tin are determined. It is established that up to Re=20,000 the nickel stannide solution process is limited by diffusion.
