A study was made of the inhibiting activity of some S-(β-alkylmercaptoethyl) diphenylthiophosphinates, O-(β-alkylmercaptoethyl) diphenylphosphinates and their methiodides toward butyrylcholinesterase.
The studied compounds are inhibitors with a combined type of action, which increases with increase in the length of the alkyl radical that is attached to either the sulfide or the sulfonium sulfur atom.
