Exchange reactions of bis(triethylgermyl)mercury with organotin halides and related compounds

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    bis(Triethylgermyl)mercury and compounds of the (C2H5)3SnX series, where X=Cl, NCO, OCOCH3, OCH3, N(C2H5)2, CH2COOCH3, enter into the reaction of exchanging the X substituents by (C2H5)3Ge radicals, with the formation of triethylstannyltriethylgermane, mercury and (C2H5)3GeX. The reaction proceeds with the intermediate formation of derivatives containing the Ge-Hg-X group.

  2. 2.

    The exchange reactions of diethyldichlorostannane and diethyldimethoxystannane with bis(triethylgermyl) mercury proceed by an analogous scheme.
