Thermal decomposition of sodium ozonide

  • 38 Accesses

Summary

  1. 1.

In a study of the thermal decomposition of sodium ozonide, on a Mc Bain balance at the temperatures −20, −10, 0, and 10°, curves of the conversion of sodium ozonide and the rate of its decomposition were obtained.

  2. 2.

The process of thermal decomposition of sodium ozonide to NaO2 occurs at −20 and −10°.

  3. 3.

At temperatures above 0°, the process of thermal decomposition of sodium ozonide is accompanied by the process of interaction of the NaO2 formed with H2O, and decomposition proceeds to the formation of NaOH.
