Radiation-resistant plastic lubricants based on sodium terephthalamide

Summary

  1. 1.

    A method has been developed for obtaining plastic lubricants based on sodium terephthalamide.

  2. 2.

    The authors have studied terephthalamide lubricants made from MS-20s or DS-11 mineral oil, MAS-35 synthetic hydrocarbon oil, and FM-1322/300 polymethylphenylsiloxane.

  3. 3.

    The complex of terephthalamide and sodium benzoate has a higher thickening capacity and (in the case of a 1∶0.5 molar ratio) forms systems with higher colloidal stabilities than sodium terephthalamide of equal concentration.

  4. 4.

    It is shown that a γ -ray dose of 108 rad does not greatly change the main physical and chemical properties of terephthalamide lubricants.
