Mechanism of action of oil-soluble corrosion inhibitors

    Efficiency of oil-soluble corrosion inhibitors depends on their chemical structure and is determined by the degree to which interfacial tension at the water interface is lowered by these compounds and by the magnitude of the contact angle of drops of water and oil.

  2. 2.

    The most efficient inhibitors are calcium, aluminum, and lead salts of sulfo- and nitro-alkyl-aromatic compounds of average molecular weight.
