Stabilization of polyethylsiloxane fluids by additives

  1. 1.

    It has been established that dilauryl selenide is the most effective additive in improving the thermal stability of Lubricant 6, with 5% additive giving a 25-fold increase in thermal stability under static conditions at 200° C.

  2. 2.

    It has been shown that increasing additive concentration increases its effectiveness.

  3. 3.

    It has been established that additives that improve the thermal-oxidative stability of Lubricant 6 under static conditions are also effective under conditions of operation in a friction unit.
