New corrosion inhibitors have been obtained—oil-soluble nitrated petrolatum (NP) and water- and oil-soluble nitrated oxidized petrolatum (NOP). The NOP is better than oxidized petrolatum in protective properties for ferrous and nonferrous metals.
It has been shown that the production of NP and NOP can be carried out in the same type of simple unit used in the nitration of mineral oils.
