A contact problem for a thick layer showing wear and heat production

Summary

A contact problem is considered and solved in thermoelasticity for a thick layer, which incorporates the surface microgeometry, wear, and frictional heat production. The treatment is reduced to a system of nonlinear integral equations, which is solved by successive approximation. Some new results are obtained.
