Influence of the quality of the charging stock and coking method on the process of desulfurizing petroleum cokes

    It was found that the degree and rate of desulfurization of cokes depend to a large extent on their initial sulfur and ash content.

  2. 2.

    A sufficiently high rate of thermal desulfurization of coke with ash content of 0.4–0.5% is achieved in retarded coking at 1450–1500°C, and therefore in carrying out the process under plant conditions, instead of using excessively high temperatures,it is better to increase the duration of calcination somewhat.
