Conclusions

  1. 1.

    It was found that the degree and rate of desulfurization of cokes depend to a large extent on their initial sulfur and ash content.

  2. 2.

    A sufficiently high rate of thermal desulfurization of coke with ash content of 0.4–0.5% is achieved in retarded coking at 1450–1500°C, and therefore in carrying out the process under plant conditions, instead of using excessively high temperatures,it is better to increase the duration of calcination somewhat.
