The process for denormalizing the 190–280 and 180–340°C fractions of Stavropol petroleum was studied. The capacity of MgA zeolite was determined with respect to the n-paraffins of these fractions “up to passage through” and saturation. It was shown that for an adsorption temperature of 400°C, a relatively high capacity can be attained on MgA with respect to mixtures of high-boiling n-paraffins (6–6.2% by weight). The capacity “up to passage through” changes from 49 to 70% based on the zeolite's total capacity,depending on the feed rate of the crude stock for the flow rates that were studied.
The question of the change in the adsorption rate depending on the degree of saturation of the zeolite was studied.
The height of the mass exchange zone was determined and a dependence was established for the height of the mass exchange zone on the flow rate. It was found that the mass exchange zones for close flow rates for the n-paraffins of the 190–280 and 180–340°C fractions are formed at approximately the same heights.
The dynamics of the separation of the n-paraffins during desorption with steam were studied. It was shown that the MgA zeolite has a significant retention capacity with respect to the n-paraffins of the given fractions.
Considering that the adsorption and desorption processes for high-boiling n-paraffins have a relatively high rate in the initial moment, it is expedient to carry out the process as a whole in the form of short cycles.
