Properties of a superconducting film in a perpendicular magnetic field

Abstract

On the basis of the Ginzburg-Landau free energy, the magnetization and the shear modulus of the vortex lattice is calculated for various values of the Ginzburg-Landau parameter κ and of the film thickness. Agreement is found with recently measured values of the shear modulus.
