Zum Peroxydasegehalt des menschlichen Parotissekretes
On the peroxydase-content of the human parotid saliva
Using a high sensitive colorimetric assay, the peroxydase content of human parotid saliva was determined by fractionated collecting the secretions in rest and during stimulation. There are high activities of this enzyme. Just a little part of them is of bacterial origin or comes from leucocytes. The by far greatest activity comes from the serous acini of the gland. The clinical importance for the defense-function of human saliva is discussed.
